Interview with Muse.International

Daisy Seilern is an award winning photographer from Austria. Her interest in photography began when she was very young.  She said that she would steal her father’s camera when she was a kid, “to take random pictures of my ballerina shoes, Disneyland dollar notes,... and of my friends.”

Seilern honed her photography skills at workshops and internships. In 1999, she decided to pursue a career as a professional photographer. She traveled to Italy, where she spent two years studying photography and video production at Instituto del Arte Lorenzo di Medici in Florence.

She worked as a journalist at Burda Media in Germany and then as an editor of Bunte, one of the world’s most popular German-language magazines.

After her first child was born, Seilern began photographing newborns at a private clinic in Salzburg, which led to her opening her own studio in 2012 that focused on family and baby photography.

In 2020, Seilern began to expand her practice. She photographs an array of various artists and wildlife in extraordinary settings.

The decision to expand her practice has led to her being the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the 2025 World Photography Cup, 2024 International Photography Awards, 2024 Budapest International Photography Awards, honors for Excellence and Distinction from the Federation of European Photographers and many more.
