Celebrating the Fine Art Print from Coast to Coast

Prints are like a diary of my artistic journey. - Pablo Picasso

The Fine Art Print has been the cornerstone, the heart and soul, of Vertu Fine Art since the day we opened our doors. The art of printmaking is being celebrated, in a big way, in New York and Los Angeles.

Gemini G.E.L. in Los Angeles is celebrating 60 years of fine art printmaking. Founded in 1966, Gemini has produced some of the finest work, and worked with many of the finest modern and contemporary artists in the world.

Fine artists like David Hockney, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein Robert Rauschenberg, Richard Serra, Ellsworth Kelly, Ed Ruscha, James Rosenquist, John Baldessari and many others have collaborated with the master printers at Gemini and made their mark in the art world.

Impressions of Los Angeles: 60 Years of Printmaking at Gemini G.E.L. will be on view at Gemini through May 1, 2026.

The Hammer Museum in LA is celebrating its collection of fine art prints, drawings and photographs at the UCLA Grunwald Center, which has been part of the museum since 1956 and has works dating from the Renaissance to the present day.

Alongside works on paper by Albrecht Dürer, Rembrandt van Rijn and Henri de Toulouse Lautrec are works by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, David Hockney and Ed Ruscha.

Five Centuries of Works on Paper: The Grunwald Center at 70 features nearly 100 works by 90 artists and will be on view through May 17, 2026

The International Fine Prints and Drawings Association (IFPDA), held at the Park Avenue Armory from April 9th through 12th, drew record crowds. More than 21,000 visitors showed up over four days, including roughly 5,000 on opening night.

Running concurrently with the IFPDA was the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair (BFAPF) at Powerhouse Art. In just its second year, the BFAPF puts it focus, not on just displaying fine art prints, but teaching about the art and science of printmaking. Workshops are held throughout the fair with artists and master printmakers. The mission statement of BFAPF is…”to champion the medium while expanding access for artists, educators, and collectors alike to engage with a dedicated community of print masters, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts.”
