Biography

Robert Kelly is a contemporary American artist born in 1956 in New York City. He received his formal art education at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and has been creating art for over three decades.

 

Kelly's art is deeply rooted in the abstract expressionist movement, featuring bold and gestural brushstrokes, vibrant colors, and dynamic compositions. He draws inspiration from his surroundings and everyday life, as well as his travels around the world.

 

Throughout his career, Kelly has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group shows across the United States and Europe. His art has been featured in prominent galleries and museums, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

 

Kelly's work has also been recognized with several awards and honors, including the prestigious Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2008.
