Rich Caldwell
I seek out textures, patterns and all things abstract that have been placed (or hidden) on this planet, utilizing aerial photography to provide that unique view. - Rich Caldwell
Rich Caldwell was born and raised in Nottingham, England. He came to the US to coach soccer.
Caldwell became interested in photography and began to take aerial photographs of the world around (and beneath) him. “We miss so many unique views of the world as we are so close to it,” he said. “We walk on the surface of this planet, almost with blinkers on — meaning we can only appreciate what we see in front (and around) of us. Only when we gain an elevated view do we truly appreciate the greatness that is all around us.”
His work often focuses on the patterns created by both the man-made and natural worlds. “The brain enjoys the patterns’ order and predictability.” Caldwell said.”When I can find them in real life with a camera, it is fun to capture them.”
Rich Caldwell lives and works in Irvine, California. His photographs have been published in the Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, ITV and ABC.
